How to set up the iOS 16 developer beta

The release of iOS 16 marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Apple’s mobile operating system. As with every new version, iOS 16 comes with a range of exciting features and improvements that are designed to make development easier and more efficient for iOS developers.

Before You Begin: Understanding the Requirements

To get started with the iOS 16 developer beta, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:

  • A Mac or Windows PC running macOS Catalina 10.15.3 or later (for Mac)
  • Xcode 12.4 or later installed on your Mac or Windows PC
  • An Apple Developer account with access to the iOS 16 beta program

Step 1: Download and Install the Xcode Command Line Tools (CLT)

The first step in setting up the iOS 16 developer beta is to download and install the Xcode Command Line Tools (CLT). These tools provide a range of command-line utilities that are required to run the iOS 16 simulator and other development tools. To download and install the CLT, follow these steps:

  1. Open Terminal on your Mac or Windows PC
  2. Paste the following command into Terminal and press Enter:
